Swander's Sunbeam Bread cartoon

Thanks Bill B for this classic image. My Dad worked for Swanders for about 25 years. He managed both the old and new bakery locations. The old building is torn down and is now a Standard Station next to the City Recreation Center. The new building remains and is a brick law office across Sherman Street from the County Court House.

I used to go to the bakery with a quarter to buy bread for my mother. One time I played in the park first, lost the quarter and was in trouble because of it.

Hello, My name is Tammylee Chapman, and I am doing some family history research. I have several old black and white photos that include the old Swander's Bakery trucks in them. They were in my grandfather, Arthur S. Grote's photo albums...Along with many other photo's from the early 1900's. I have some that are of a fella named Harry, a woman named viola or something, can barely read the back inscriptions...but, anyhow, was wondering how these might be important to my family heritage, Thank you, Tammylee you can message me at dakotagirlatheart@yahoo.com Again, thank you.
