Bob Beshara Passed Away Early Today

Bill Beshara and son Bob in September 2007.

After I took these pictures Bill told me Bob had just been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), sometimes called Lou Gehrig's disease. It is a rapidly progressive, invariably fatal neurological disease that attacks the nerve cells (neurons) responsible for controlling voluntary muscles. The disease belongs to a group of disorders known as motor neuron diseases, which are characterized by the gradual degeneration and death of motor neurons.

Bob kept this good nature until the end. Bill says Bob taught their whole family a lesson of love, living, careing, and dying.

I have to add, Bob walked into Bill's office and I took the pictures. But not before he told a joke. He exited with a joke and even gave me a business size card with a baseball joke. He was like the Lone Ranger but his siver bullets were jokes, good humor, and genuine nice guy to the world.
