Late Posted Obiturary from Dave Klein 4/4/08

Dale Stoneberger DHS48, 77, Deadwood, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital.

Dale was born Aug. 11, 1930 at Broadland, S.D., to Carl and Gertrude (Bies) Stoneberger. He was raised in Deadwood and graduated from Deadwood High School in 1948. Dale joined the U.S. Navy in 1950 and he served in the Korean War. At that time he met and married Colette Harvey in 1954. After being discharged from the Navy they moved to Deadwood, where Dale began work for his father at Stoneberger Lumber. In 1965 Dale was elected president of South Dakota Lumberman's Association. In 1966 Dale started his own business and operated Stoneberger Construction until 1992, when he went to work for Homestake Mining Company until he retired in 1994.

Dale has a neat family who usually take a light hearted approach to life. As I understand Dale was a dedicated Denver Bronco fan. So they buried him in his Bronco Sweatshirt and the TV clicker in his hands.
